P603 - Vanadinite $ 3500 Mibladen, Morocco small cabinet - 7 x 5.5 x 4 cm
Stunning cluster of large, thick, blocky Vanadinite crystals from Mibladen. Crystals reach 2cm wide by 1.1 cm thick. Virtually undamaged, I could find only two tiny nicks. Though it doesn't have the bright red color, it's very impressive for crystal size and overall quality and display.
P604 - Kammererite $ 4000 SOLD Kop Krom Mine, Kop Daglari, East Anatolia, Turkey small cabinet - 6.0 x 5.5 x 3.8 cm
Richly crystallized Kammererite specimen loaded with large crystals to 9mm. This mine is long closed and pieces of this quality are hard to come by now. Purchased in Tucson about 25 years ago.
P605 - Quartz 'Cross' $ 700 Jinkouhe District, Leshan, Sichuan, China small cabinet - 9.3 x 7 x 4.3 cm
Two doubly-terminated Quartz crystals forming the shape of a cross. A third smaller Quartz sticks out the front. Quartz from this locality is known for it's carbon and fluid inclusions, and this one has a number of moving bubbles inside that travel up 1cm in distance. There is an indent on the backside where this atttached to the matrix, otherwise it's complete and well crystallized all around.
P606 - Amethyst $ 1600 Kingston Mtns., San Bernardino Co., California, USA small cabinet - 7.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm
Amethyst crystal cluster from artisanal diggings in the Kingston Mountains of eastern California. Most Amethyst from this locality has either white Quartz over the purple zones or are only transluscent and of medium purple color. The very best (in my opinion) are of the style of this specimen, with clear transparent Quartz over deep purple Amethyst. Fine and undamaged, this is the best Kingston Amethyst I've ever owned and one I've kept for many years.
P607 - Clinozoisite $ 950 Alchuri, Shigar Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan small cabinet - 7 x 2 x 0.8 cm
Tall, golden brown and transparent Clinozoisite crystal from Alchuri. It has a wonderful, complex termination and is transparent for the full length of the crystal. Undamaged and complete all around. Ex. Don Zowader collection.
P608 - Tremolite $ 1200 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 5 x 2 x 0.8 cm
Doubly-terminated single Tremolite crystal from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Vivid green color with areas of transparency. This is a good sized crystal (consider the MIM museum recently posted a 2.9cm doubly-terminated Tremolite). Complete and undamaged with typical striated prism faces and flat termination faces.
P609 - Tanzanite on Alabandite $ 1250 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4.4 x 3.5 x 2 cm
Group of 3 Alabandite crystals with attached Tanzanite, Diopside, and Graphite. Well developed Alabandite crystals that are undamaged and complete all around with a flat area on the back where the crystal group attached to Graphite. A top quality piece that I've held in my collection since the inital finds.
P610 - Feldspar var. Moonstone $ 500 Namalulu, Tanzania miniature - 3.5 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm
Miniature sized specimen of crystallized moonstone from Tanzania. Individual crystals to 2.5cm that display a satiny blue color when turned under lighting. This 'Schiller effect' of color is seen at different angles on the different crystals and was therefore not possible to catch in still photos and these are therefore more colorful and attractive in person. Moonstone crystals are rare! Though not the largest, this was the finest quality example from a find approx. 10 years ago.
P611 - Fluorite $ 900 Llamas Quarry, Caravia mining area, Asturias, Spain miniature - 3.5 x 2.7 x 2.6 cm
Water-clear light lavender colored Fluorite crystals. The main crystal is 1.6cm on edge. This has amazing transparency and is even more transparent and bright in person.
P612 - Quartz with Epidote $ 300 Kharan, Balochistan, Pakistan miniature - 4.2 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm
Transparent, doubly-terminated Quartz crystal with Epidote inclusions and attached Epidote crystals. This was the finest example from a small lot fo similar crystals I purchased long ago.
P613 - Hambergite, Tourmaline on Quartz $ 2750 Stak Nala, Skardu Dist., Pakistan small cabinet - 7.5 x 6 x 4 cm
Doubly-terminated transparent Quartz crystal with an attached Tourmaline crystal and twinned Hambergite crystal. This is a floater specimen well crystallized all around. I bought this long ago from Muzaffar Ali back when he was selling at the Inn Suites in Tucson. The Hambergite crystal is superb and 1.5cm long.
P614 - Zircon $ 3000 Manogay, Dari-i-Pech, Kunar Prov., Afghanistan cabinet - 9.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm
Red Zircon crystals in a Quartz and Mica matrix. The main crystal is doubly-terminated and 2.7cm tall. This is as good a Zircon crystal as I have seen from this locality, and you don't see many of these for sale anymore, purchased back in the 1990s.
P615 - Amethyst $ 950 Las Vigas, Vera Cruz, Mexico small cabinet - 7 x 6 x 4 cm
Cluster of transparent 'Grape Jelly' colored Amethyst crystals. Aesthetic and undamaged crystals acquired from the Jim Parrish collection.
P616 - Apatite on Ferberite $ 4500 Panasquiera, Portugal small cabinet - 5.2 x 5.2 x 2.2 cm
Glassy green Apatite crystals on a black Ferberite crystal. Highly aesthetic example of this association. Well crystallized all around and undamaged. One of my favorite pieces purchased long ago from the Don Boydston collection.
