Large, elongated Dioptase crystals in a vug lined by blue Plancheite. Stunning, fine quality specimen from the Irv Brown collection (who was reluctant to let this one go!). This specimen is illustrated on page 185 of the Namibia II book written by Ludi von Bezing. Comes with a custom Sunnywood Lucite base. Fun fact: this specmimen won first place at a contest held at the birthday party for area collector Jack Halpern at his home in San Francisco. Attendees were asked to bring a 'best Jack rock'. Once all the pieces were assembled on a table, Jack judged the specimens and selected this Dioptase as his favorite of them all.
