R667 - Spessartine $ 2000 Navegador Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm
Transparent red Spessartine crystal with the crazy geometric growth formations these are known for. Fine undamaged example that is complete and well crystallized all around. I've had many of these over the years but held onto this one due to it's interesting form. Undamaged. Weighs 20.23 grams. Ex. Mike Keim.
R668 - Sphalerite on Quartz $ 1500 Shuikoushan Mine, Hunan, China small cabinet - 7 x 5 x 3 cm
Transparent red Sphalerite clusters on drusy Quartz crystals. I bought this from dealer Debbie Meng upon her return from China back in the 1990s when these first started coming out. This was my top pick from the many (100-200?) she brought back. The main cluster is 2cm wide. Ex. Mike Keim.
R669 - Crocoite $ 1800 Red Lead Mine, Zeehan mining district, Tasmania, Australia miniature - 3.5 x 0.6 x 0.4 cm
Deep orange/red, translucent to transparent single Crocoite crystal from the Red Lead Mine. Complete and undamaged. Ex. Mike Keim.
R670 - Lawsonite $ 2250 Mendocino County, California, USA miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.2 cm
Translucent pink orthorhombic crystals of Lawsonite to 8mm on Glaucophane. Found years ago at an undisclosed locality in Mendocino county, I acquired all the specimens (about 100 pieces) directly from the field collector. This one was by far my favorite of them all due to the quality of the crystals and the large isolated crystal set adjacent to a 2cm tall tower of crystals that rise straight up off the matrix. Ex. Mike Keim.
R671 - Garnet in Schist $ 400 Nepal large cabinet - 16 x 12 x 8 cm
Dark black schist hosting large red garnet crystals to 4cm in size. This is a specimen I bought outside of Kathmandu while travelling in Nepal in the 1990s. Ex. Mike Keim. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
