TL323 - Duftite on Dolomite cast $3,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
11 x 7.5 x 3 cm
Dolomite casts from Tsumeb are iconic and well known oddities from the mine. The Dolomite formed over pre-exisitng crystals (likely Calcite) as an epimorph. The Calcite crystals later dissolved away leaving the Dolomite cast. This is easily the finest I have ever handled. The sharp, crisp definition of the crystals, the shimmering satiny luster, the rich pink color and the preferential coating of the green Duftite all combine for a spectacular piece. The Duftite is present on both sides (note that the photos are a little too yellow and the Duftite is more green in person). Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL324 - Smithsonite $2,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
4.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm
Dark pink to red crystals of Smithsonite in a mound-like formation well crystallized all around. The crystals have variable coloration and are large sized, reaching 1cm wide. Fine and undamaged. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL325 - Smithsonite on Cerussite $1,800 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
6 x 5 x 4 cm
A heart-shaped twin Cerussite crystal, 2.5cm wide, standing up on a matrix covered by Smithsonite crystals. Smithsonite crystals are also present attached to the Cerussite, mostly along the narrow edges. Ex. Carl Acosta collection and comes with two old labels.
TL326 - Willemite $2,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
5 x 4 x 3 cm
Fantastic, gem-like Willemite crystal on white Dolomite crystals. The Willemite are exceedingly bright and transparent with a blue/green coloration. Undamaged.
TL327 - Smithsonite on Cuprite $2,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
6.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm
Lustrous greenish/white crystals of Smithsonite over Cuprite. The front side shows mostly Smithsonite, while the backside is mostly Cuprite. Ex. Carl Acosta collection, acquired from the Joaquin Folch collection.
TL328 - Cerussite $2,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
4 x 4 x 2.2 cm
Single 'snow-flake' Cerussite crystal. Finely crystallized all around (a floater) and nearly pristine with only a couple micro 'Wilburs'. The back side has a bit of attached Cerussite and matrix and is much better than the pictures with sharp, flat reflective faces under the attached bits. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL329 - Dolomite cast $1,500 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
11 x 4 x 2.5 cm
Unusual hollow, tube-like formation of pink Dolomite that grew over a now-gone mineral. The unidentified mineral dissolved away, leaving this strange cast. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL330 - Cerussite on Cuprian Smithsonite $6,000 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
7.5 x 7 x 3.5 cm
Snow-flake Cerussite crystal atop multiple generations of green Cuprian Smithsonite. The Cerussite crystal is 2cm wide and undamaged, well centered on the Smithsonite. Along the edges multiple generations of Smithsonite can be seen - the top layer is a bright green, sparkly and crystallized, followed by a more satiny lime green layer, which in turn covers a more blue/green layer of sparkling crystallized Smithsonite. A beautiful and rare specimen! Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL331 - Azurite $600 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
2.3 x 2 x 1.8 cm
Cute thumbnail of deep blue, translucent Azurite crystals on matrix. Ex. Carl Acosta collection.
TL332 - Dolomite cast (the Toad) $750 available
Tsumeb, Namibia
13 x 13 x 3 cm
Large, colorful pink Dolomite cast with preferential coatings of green Duftite. Ex. Carl Acosta collection and named 'The Toad' for it's similarity in appearance to a sitting toad. The backside of the cast is completely filled in by a a dark green mineral that appears to be Mottramite.
