A160 - Sapphire sold
Ratnapura, Sri Lanka
Small Cabinet - 5.6 x 3.9 x 2.5 cm
Tall, translucent blue Sapphire crystal cluster with surprisingly sharp crystal form given that most are found a water worn crystals. Beautiful blue color and very good sized. Lots of smaller crystals sticking out from the main crystal, all are terminated and the cluster is undamaged except for one small ding on a side crystal and a place on the backside where another small crystal was attached. Clusters such as this are much more uncommon than the typical single crystals. Adding even interest are numerous small, lime green crystals on and within the Sapphire, possibly Tourmaline or Spinel.
A162 - Pyromorphite sold
Daoping Mine, Guangxi Prov., China
Cabinet - 9.5 x 8 x 5 cm
Rich green Pyro specimen from the early finds at the Daoping Mine. Thick specimen with rolling clusters of lustrous crystals, a couple missing crystals which does not significantly detract from the piece. There is more depth to this specimen than is apparent in the photos, better than most. Obtained a number of years ago from a private European collection via Andy Seibel.
AF644 - Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania
Small Cabinet - 7.7 x 3.2 x 3 cm
Exceedingly rare cluster of gem Tanzanite crystals! Tanzanite crystals are usually found as single crystals embedded in matrix, and to have a pocket large enough for open growth of a 7.7cm crystal cluster is rare. 6 crystals of gem quality, lavender color, all undamaged except for one small ding on the side of a lesser crystal. Some attached Diopside and Graphite on backside. Spectacular, unique Tanzanite.
AF645 - Diopside on Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania
Miniature - 4 x 3.8 x 2.9 cm
Double terminated Diopside and Tanzanite crystals on a \"matrix\" of a partial Tanzanite crystal. The Tanzanites are gemmy and terminated with top luster, the effect with the Diopsides, Graphite, and platy, white mineral are spectacular. Rare specimen indicative of the open pocket growth. Excellent piece for a Merelani suite, even the bottom is interesting with many small Diopsides. Fine, colorful minature.
AF646 - Tsavorite sold
Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm
Exceptionally bright and richly colored single crystal. Smooth, glassy faces with top color.
AF725 - Tsavorite sold
Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.3 cm
Gem quality single crystal, facet grade and complete all around except for a bit of damage along the side/bottom of one edge. Exceptionally clear, rare to find this combination of clarity, size, and perfection of the crystal.
NA117 - Silver sold
Cobalt, Ontario, Canada
Cabinet - 12 x 8.5 x 3.5 cm
Large sheet of Silver, attractively bent along the edges like a piece of parchment paper. The single best Silver piece by far from a Canadian dealer's collection I purchased about 10 years ago.
NA118 - Adamite sold
Mina Oujela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Cabinet - 11 x 5.5 x 4.7 cm
Dense, thick masses of bright yellow crystals over Limonite (up to 1.5cm thick layer). Old material with exceptionally rich coverage of crystals. Recent finds have produced much new Adamite, however this style in terms of thickness and coverage, has not been duplicated.
SA161 - Aquamarine sold
Jaqueto Mine, Bahia, Brazil
Cabinet - 9.5 x 2.9 x 2 cm
Etched floater Aqua crystal, gem quality inside. Beautiful etching all around and transparent, the photos really speak for themselves here. Old specimen from one of the most famous Aqua finds ever. These have always been desirable and costly due to their value as cutting rough for gemstones.
