California Datolite February 2, 2011 · 13 specimens In keeping with the theme of this year's Tucson show, here are new specimens of Datolite recently collected in northern California. These represent the best Datolite found in California, probably the only display quality Datolite too (most California Datolite are micros). These were all collected from a couple of boulders near the Russian River and according to the collector, none is left. Most have a bit of damage around the edges, but the crystals are all glassy and translucent, and large sized for California. |
