AF627 - Spessartine on Kyanite sold
Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania
Cabinet - 9.9 x 1.8 x 1 cm
Here's a novelty - Spessartine ON Kyanite. Although both species have been found at this deposit, they are rarely found attached to each other, even though they can be found millimeters from each other when embedded in mica on matrix specimens. Mining at this locality is reportedly ended, so I was surprised to see this specimen turn up. Five Spessartine crystals to 6mm on a relatively long Kyanite crystal with some attached mica.

Agoudal Mine, Bou Azzer, Morocco
