TZ144 - Magnesio-Axinite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Miniature - 3.5 x 3.0 x 0.6 cm
An exceedingly fine Magnesioaxinite crystal with top glassy luster, good purple/blue color, and very gemmy. Many people don't know that these crystals exhibit a strong color change from purple to blue. This crystal also has more thickness than most.
TZ145 - Grossular sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm
Hard to find complete, floater crystal of Tsavorite - the only one out of the few hundred crystals I recently searched through from the new find. Glassy luster and good transparency, with some inclusions of Graphite. Undamaged.
TZ146 - Prehnite $270 available
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Miniature - 3.2 x 3.0 x 1.5 cm
TZ148 - Diopside on Graphite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Miniature - 3.7 x 2.8 x 2.2 cm
Intensely green Diopside crystals to 2cm on a mtrix of Graphite. The crystals jut out in different directions and are a fine, vivid green color.
TZ149 - Diopside sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Miniature - 3.8 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm
Large single Diopside crystal, complete all around with good luster. Though light in color, it is uncommonly large and of good quality, with just a couple very tiny nicks.
TZ150 - Prehnite over Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 3.0 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm
Unusual specimen of blue Prehnite that has overgrown Tanzanite. The Prehnite is in a stunning formation with a broad chisel termination, and the color contrast between the light blue Prehnite and dark blue Tanzanite is striking.
TZ152 - Prehnite on Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 2.3 x 2.0 x 1.0 cm
Translucent blue Prehnite crystal that grew atop Tanzanite.
TZ154 - Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 2.7 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm
Fancy colored Tanzanite crystal with a pink coloration in one direction, yellow in the other, and a peachy color up the C-axis. There is a cleavage on the back face, otherwise this is in good condition, but despite the minor damage, this is in way better condition than most of the fancy colored Tanzanites I've seen. A very unusual coloration.
TZ155 - Diopside sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 1.6 x 0.7 x 0.6 cm
Highly saturated green Diopside crystal. Complete and undamaged. From the December 2007 pockete with the top green color.
TZ158 - Tanzanite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 2 x 1.0 x 0.6 cm
Bi-color Tanzanite crystal (yellow over blue). Small but of high quality with glassy luster and no damage.
