New Find Dravite September 3, 2013 · 9 specimens A recent find of Dravite (analyzed) from a Danburite mine near Namalulu, Tanzania that were mined just a few months ago. These are from a different locality than the other recent find of Dravite in Tanzania from near Komolo. The crystals are gemmy with a rich red/brown coloration. Note that I backlit at least one photo of most every specimen. I used a small penlight behind the crystals, and although only a portion shows the backlighting, the crystals have the same general degree of clarity shown throughout the entire crystal. These are lovely crystals and every collector I've shown them to has commented that they are nicer than they first appear. |
