SA700 - Epidote sold
Sapo Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Cabinet - 10.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm
Double-terminated, diverging grouping of Epidote crystals. Undamaged and superb quality with each end terminating in crisp, flat terminations. Mined in the mid 1990s, Steve Perry bought the pocket and brought them back to the USA. This specimen was my pick as the best of the pocket.
SA703 - Rhodochrosite sold
Uchuchacua Mine, Peru
Small Cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 2.5 cm
Gemmy, deep red Rhodochrosite crystal group on matrix. The Rhodochrosite is 1.7cm wide, undamaged, and of particularly good color. Backside is sawn.
SA705 - Apatite with Pyrite $400 available
Julcani Mine, Peru
Thumbnail - 2.8 x 0.9 x 0.8 cm
A301 - Elbaite sold
Pech, Nuristan, Afghanistan
Miniature - 4.6 x 2 x 1.7 cm
Thick single Elbaite crystal with a fabulous green gem section at the top, with the main body a dark green. The form and color of the termination is excellent and the botttom is rehaled and fully crystallized. Complete and undamaged except for one minor chip along the bottome edge as seen in photo. This is the best from a small pocket found approximately 10 years ago, and I've not seen more like this since.
TZ282 - Sphalerite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.7 cm
Complex floater group of crystals in excellent condition. These are almost always found as shards or partial crystals to to get one complete all around and undamaged is unusual.
TZ284 - Tanzanite on Calcite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
Small Cabinet - 6.5 x 6 x 4 cm
Large Calcite crystal with attached Graphite and gem Tanzanite. The Calcite is clear with an outer coating of translucent, satiny Calcite. The Tanzanite is 1.6cm long, gemmy and undamaged.
TZ285 - Tsavorite on Graphite sold
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
Thumbnail - 1.8 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm
9mm Tsavorite garnet crystal with excellent color on Graphite matrix. The Tsavorite is complete and undamaged with great color.
TZ286 - Dravite in Danburite sold
Namalulu, Tanzania
Cabinet - 11 x 8 x 7 cm
Large mass of crystalline yellow Danburite hosting two crystals of brown Dravite. The main Dravite is facet quality and 4cm long and undamaged. An interesting combination I've not seen before. The Danburite is sturdy but somewhat crumbly (little bits will come off when you rub your hand across it). Due to this, the entire crystal could be easily exposed if desired.
TZ287 - Dravite in Danburite sold
Namalulu, Tanzania
Small Cabinet - 6.5 x 6 x 4 cm
Yellow Danburite hosting multiple crystals of brown Dravite. No terminations are showing on the Dravites but they undoubtedly exist inside the Danburite. An interesting combination I've not seen before.
