Dioptase, Bromian Chlorargyrite
March 30, 2015  ·  2 specimens

A recent find of vibrant green dioptase crystals dotted with yellow-green silver halide bromargyrite recently surfaced from the well known Blue Bell Mine in the Soda Mountains of San Bernardino County, California.  This decades old famous silver-copper-lead-zinc mine has produced in excess of 80 different mineral species over the years with several new species coming to light in the last four years.  It's home to one of the most complex mineral assemblages known in California.  Specimens with bright green dioptase shown here are likely some of the best full or near full coverages to come from California.
