Merelani Apatite August 10, 2015 · 9 specimens A significant new find from the summer of 2015 at the Karo Pit in Merelani Hills, Tanzania. These gemmy light blue Apatites have always been scarse at the deposit, with only an occasional single crystal seen for sale. In fact in all my years of mineral dealing I've only handled a few crystals, and most were very small Apatites associated with other minerals. This batch is not only the most I've ever seen at one time, but all are medium blue, entirely gem quality, and have good length reaching 3.7cm tall. |
