Chrome Tourmaline October 17, 2016 · 12 specimens A new find of Chrome Tourmaline from Tanzania that has produced some of the best ever Chromes. These are all from a single pocket opened just in the past month or so. Apparently there was an initial pocket of similar material but it was all cut for the gem industry. Fortunately this pocket was saved. Most of the crystals are similar in form and color and are in great condition having been carefully removed from a soft clay filled pocket. They have a great electric green coloration in the upper portions and a more brownish olive green in the lower portions. The lower portions look more brown from farther away but when brought under a light show a green color. |
