T946 - Selenite sold
Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico
Large Cabinet - 17.5 x 9 x 8 cm
The world's best, and certainly the largest, Selenite crystals are found at Naica. This double-terminated, transparent Selenite crystal is considered tiny for the mine, where crystal size is measured in feet, but it is perfectly sized for a collector. Complete and undamaged, recently released from an old collection. There is a good yellow phantom in the crystal on the left side.
T948 - Apophyllite on Analcime sold
Seiser Alp, South Tyrol, Italy
Cabinet - 11.5 x 8 x 6 cm
Open vug lined with pink Analcime crystals with tabular, transparent Apophyllite crystals on the Analcime.
T949 - Stibnite sold
Baia Sprie mine, MaramureÈ™ Co., Romania
Large Cabinet - 20 x 12 x 4 cm
Large flat specimen covered by clusters of Stibnite crystals with Calcite on the front side. Backside is also fully crystallized with rounded masses of grey Calcite. Large, showy display specimen out of an old collection.
T950 - Stilbite on Kunzite sold
Kunar Prov., Afghanistan
Small Cabinet - 5.7 x 2.5 x 2 cm
Gem purple Kunzite crystal with the backside coated by tan Stilbite crystals. A beautiful, well terminated Kunzite on it's own, with added color and flair due to the Stilbite. Pegmatitic Stilbite is uncommon.
T953 - Tourmaline sold
Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Small Cabinet - 6.8 x 0.5 x 0.4 cm
Transparent single crystal, green for most of it's length with a purple tip. Well terminated and facet quality for it's entire length.
T954 - Quartz sold
Que Phong, Nghe An Prov., Vietnam
Large Cabinet - 17 x 4.0 x 3.5 cm
Large, tapering Quartz crystal with interesting inclusions. The is the best, largest crystal from the one and only parcel I've ever seen of this material. The core is filled with hair-like crystals and green, yellow and red coloration. There is a green phantom at the tip and the outer zone is transparent.
T956 - Fluorite on Quartz sold
Huanggang Mine, Inner Mongolia, China
Small Cabinet - 7 x 5 x 4 cm
Three Quartz crystals partially coated by deep blue, translucent Fluorite crystals. A particularly aesthetic one in my opinion.
T958 - Pyromorphite sold
Daoping Mine, Guangxi, China
Thumbnail - 2.9 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm
Floater cluster of bright green Pyromorphite, well crystalizzed all around. There is one damaged tip on the backside, otherwise perfect all around. This specimen has the top color for the find.
T959 - Carletonite sold
Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
Thumbnail - 1.2 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm
Well terminated single Carletonite crystal. A rarity that I bought from Frank Melanson approx. 15 years ago.
T960 - Spinel sold
Mogok, Myanmar
Thumbnail - 1.2 x 1 x 0.5 cm
Glassy, spinel-twinned crystal. Unusual in that it is nearly colorless with just a faint pink coloration.
