Miniature - 4.8 x 3 x 2.3 cm
Botryoidal, satiny yellow Mimetite. This is old material rarely seen now in this quality. It's almost solid Mimetite with just a small amount of matrix on the backside. It's also in pristine condition, perfect except for a small chip at the very bottom as seen in photos.

San Pedro Corralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico
Small Cabinet - 5.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm
Botryoidal, satiny yellow Mimetite. This is old material rarely seen now in this quality. It's almost solid Mimetite with good botryoidal masses on both sides and just a small amount of matrix on the inside. It's also in pristine condition.
LL168 - Benitoite sold
Gem Mine, San Benito Co., California, USA
Small Cabinet - 5.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm
Large, deep blue crystals of Benitoite on a schist matrix with white Natrolite. Large crystals to 2.1 cm on edge that show areas of transparency (therer are some areas of gem rough quality).
LL165 - Pyromorphite sold
Bad Ems, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Small Cabinet - 6 x 5 x 3.5 cm
Well crystallized Pyromorphite with large, chunky yellow/green crystals to lightly over 1cm in size. The crystals grew over and around a white Quartz matrix. Most are double-terminated and I can only find one that is not perfect. Mining in this area dates back to the Roman Empire with the first underground mines recorded in 1158. The mine was expanded in 1871 under operation of the Bad Ems Lead and Silver Works, Inc. and mining ceased in 1945. This specimen could be well over a hundred years old! From the Carl Bosch collection (B10594) and comes with an old label from the US National Museum (Smithsonian).
LL161 - Quartz var. Ametrine sold
Anahi Mine, La Gaiba Mining District, Santa Cruz, Bolivia
Cabinet - 11 x 8 x 5 cm
Large transparent crystal of Ametrine (Quartz that is part Amethyst and part Citrine). It has typical etched form with a flat, wide termination. When looking down from the top, six equally sized pie-shaped color zones are evident, 3 purple and 3 yellow. There are two small dings otherwise this is perfect and one of the better examples I've seen.
LL183 - Lazulite sold
Big Fish River, Yukon, Canada
Miniature - 5 x 4 x 2 cm
Large, lustrous crystals of deep blue Lazulite, the most well known of the 'Yukon phosphate' minerals found at this locality. Individual crystals are good sized for the locality reaching 1.2cm.
LL155 - Stibnite sold
McLaughlin Mine (Manhattan Mine), Knoxville, Napa Co., California, USA
Small Cabinet - 6.5 x 6 x 3 cm
Metallic Stibnite crystals on matrix with white Calcite. An excellent example from this lesser known, defunct locality. The McLaughlin Mine is a former Au-Ag-Pb-Hg-Sb mine discovered 1865 and operated until 1945.
LL162 - Celestite on Sulfur sold
Machów mine, Tarnobrzeg City County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland
Small Cabinet - 6.5 x 5 x 4 cm
Highly aesthetic sprays of golden Celestite atop a Sulfur matrix. Translucent to transparent crystals that shoot out in all directions, equally good from any side. There are some broken tips here and there but regardless this is a beauty.
LL153 - Azurite $750 available
Touissit, Morocco
Miniature - 4.8 x 2.8 x 1.2 cm
Large single Azurite crystal with a small attached crystal that is altering to Malachite. There is also some alteration to Malachite under the surface of the main crystal that gives areas of 'electric' blue color. Fully terminated and complete all around. There is one chipped area on the side with the small attached crystal (though most of what you see in the third photo is natural etched growth), otherwise it's undamaged. Comes with an old Geary Murdock collection label.
LL182 - Turquoise after Beryl or Apatite sold
Apache Canyon Mines, Turquoise Mtns., San Bernadino Co., California
Miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm
Cluster of 3 Beryl or Apatite crystals that have psuedomorphed to Turquoise. This is an excellent example for the locality as most are single crystals (not clusters), crystal size is good with crystals to 1.3cm, and it's in overall good condition (these are brittle on most are destroyed in the removal process). The following is quoted from Mindat: 'Host rock is Teutonia quartz monazite (Beckerman, 1982). Late turquoise replacement of miarolitic cavities resulted in turquoise pseudomorphs after the following minerals: quartz, muscovite, beryl, microcline, apatite as well unconfirmed orthorhombic pseudomorphs labeled as after barite. Chesterman at the Ca. Div. of Mines and Geology confirmed turquoise pseudomorphs after beryl based on morphology, trace beryl remnants and in situ beryl nearby. (Nazelrod, pers. comm.)'.
LL157 - Quartz after Anhydrite on Quartz sold
Irai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Small Cabinet - 6 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm
Radial flower-like formation of white Quartz crystals with attached pseudomorphs of Quartz after Anhydrite. Well crystallized all around, a floater.
LL158 - Apatite with Mica sold
Medina, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 2 cm
GEM golden Apatite crystals from Medina. These are famous for their clarity and indeed this specimen looks like a cluster of faceted gemstones with water-clear intergrown perfect crystals. Even the small book of mica is transparent! It's complete all around with the point of contact on the right side as photographed, the thicker left side is terminated with a multitude of tiny crystal faces.
