Tourmaline Tourmaline Tourmaline Tourmaline

Rare classic Elbaite crystal from the Hyakule Mine in Nepal. These Nepalese crystals are distinctive and now very hard to find, and this one is both good sized (many being thin 'pencil' style crystals) and highly transparent. The termination is green while the rest of the crystal is pink with bands of lighter and darker coloration. It's complete and undamaged except for one chip on the back. There are also some small Tourmaline crystals attached to part of the backside. Comes with an old Joe Cilen label with his hand drawn picture and description on the back. This is a great piece and better than photos - you will love this when you see it! Weighs 23 grams.

The only way to describe this specimen is to say it's an absolute jewel!  Doubly-terminated Calcite crystal from the Elmwood Mine in Tennessee. This is a stunning, pristine crystal with golden coloration that deepens near the terminations. Though Calcite is not a rare mineral, even as very large crystals, they are difficult to find in the quality. A competition level miniature. Like a faceted jewel made by the earth.

Gold Gold Gold Gold Gold Gold

Crystallized Gold in Quartz from the Reed Mine in North Carolina. The Reed Mine was the site of the first documented Gold find in the United States when in 1779, 12-year-old Conrad Reed discovered a 17-pound gold nugget in Little Meadow Creek. Conrad's father John Reed later found a 28 pound Gold nugget. After the placer Gold was exhausted, the mine was advanced underground. This specimen was recovered during the underground workings. It's a rich and showy Gold specimen and an interesting piece of history as well as a hard to find Gold locality specimen.

Azurite with Malachite Azurite with Malachite Azurite with Malachite Azurite with Malachite Azurite with Malachite

Blocky, electric blue crystals of Azurite from the historic mines in Bisbee, Arizona. The Azurite occurs as a thin veneer over Malachite after Azurite pseudomorphs, giving the specimen the bright electric blue coloration. This classic Azurite is similar in appearance to specimens from the Milpillas Mine in Mexico. Areas where the Azurite does not cover the underlying Malachite is natural growth formation and adds to the visual appeal. It's well crystallized all around, even on the bottom.

Long before China, transparent Cassiterite from Bolivia was the standard and this one will not disappoint. Cassiterite specimens from this locality are most commonly found as densely packed groups of crystals. This specimen features a large, single, isolated Cassiterite crystal on a matrix covered by Quartz and Siderite crystals with a single Quartz crystal rising dramatically from the back. The Cassiterite crystal has it all - transparency, good size (2cm), and high luster. It's also complete all around and undamaged.
