LP238 - Manganite sold
Atikokan, Rainy River District, Ontario, Canada
Miniature - 5 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm
Cluster of lustrous metallic Manganite crystals from Atikokan. At first glance I thought this was from Ilfeld, Germany because the crystals were so much larger than what I normally see from Canadian Manganite - it has crystals to 1.8cm tall. This is a well documented specimen from the JIm Watson collection (with label and old photograph), and comes with another old label from George and Susan Robinson Minerals that dates to 1978.
MK971 - Olshanskyite, Andradite, Roweite sold
Shijiangshan Mine, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China
Cabinet - 9.5 x 6 x 5.5 cm
Beautiful sprays of white white Olshanskyite crystals with Andradite. These recent finds have produced the world's best Olshanskyite with crystal sizes and quality not seen before. There are also a few brown Roweite crystals. Interestingly, the type locality for Roweite is Franklin, New Jersey, where only one specimen was found. Ex. Len Pisciotta collection.
