LP594 - Libethenite sold
Mindola open pit, Rokana Mine, Kitwe, Zambia
Small Cabinet - 7 x 5.5 x 2.5 cm
Crystals of dark green Libethenite in an open vug. This locality has produced some of the world's best crystals of this uncommon copper phosphate species. There are 4 individual crystal groups within the vug - hard to see them in the photos because they are along the vug walls, but they are excellent crystals. Comes with an old Jim Watson collection label showing a date of 1979 (these were found in the 1970s and the mine closed in 1980).
LP595 - Feldspar var. Moonstone sold
Namalulu, Tanzania
Cabinet - 11 x 8 x 3.5 cm
Uncommon specimen with crystals of Feldspar var. moonstone from a limited find in Tanzania. Individual crystals to 1.5cm that display a satiny blue color when turned under lighting. This 'Schiller effect' of color is seen at different angles on the different crystals and was therefore not possible to catch all the color in still photos - these are more colorful and attractive in person. Moonstone crystals are rare! Sawcut on backside.
