Mina Ojuela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Small Cabinet - 8.5 x 8 x 3 cm
Scalenohedral white Calcite crystals on green Conichalcite. This is the largest, finest specimens of this type from the Ojuela that I ever recall seening. In most similar specimens, the Calcite occur as small drusy rhombs - this one has larger sized Calcite crystals to 1.5cm. The Calcite are in excellent condition with just a couple missing crystals on the very edge, the vast majority are perfect. A great addition to a Ojuela Mine suite. Ex. Allen Winans collection.
