Duftite on Dolomite cast from Tsumeb, Namibia

Dolomite casts from Tsumeb are iconic and well known oddities from the mine. The Dolomite formed over pre-exisitng crystals (likely Calcite) as an epimorph. The Calcite crystals later dissolved away leaving the Dolomite cast. This is easily the finest I have ever handled. The sharp, crisp definition of the crystals, the shimmering satiny luster, the rich pink color and the preferential coating of the green Duftite all combine for a spectacular piece.
