Large single gem quality Tanzanite crystal. The crystal displays purple on the front face, blue from the side, and a light pink/red up the C-axis, confirming this is a natural and unheated crystal. The crystal is complete all around and undamaged. The termination has mostly flat crystal faces with one large face that has a shallow 'valley' from natural etching or irregular growth. The crystal is internally flawless (gemstone cutting quality) over much of it's length and has significant gem rough value. Weighs 123 carats with about 75 carats being clean facet rough quality which would yield about 26 carats of finished gemstones. Cut Tanzanite gemstones of this color retail for $500/carat, giving this crystal approximately $13,000 of gem value if it were cut. But I like it much more as a crystal.
