Fibrous red/orange crystals of Ludlockite on matrix from a recent find at the Ojuela Mine. This is a larger sized specimen loaded with Ludlockite on all sides. The Ludlockite fibers are oriented in the smae direction in Selenite. Though it's hard to see in still photos, they are bright and satiny and really flash when turned in hand. This was found recently by a local miner searching for Legrandite and shipped directly to me from Mexico. A few specimens of Ludlockite from Mapimi were also available at the Tucson show in 2023. Ludlockite is a rare lead iron arsenite species and specimens were previously best known from the Type locality of Tsumeb. Ludlockite specimens from Tsumeb were found decades ago from a single boulder and are very hard to obtain. These recent specimens from Mexico make a once very difficult to obtain species available to collectors.
