Terminated deep green Chromian rich Diopside crystal. This crystal came from a pocket opened in December 2007 that produced crystals of exceptional color, much better than typical Merelani Diopsides. This specimen is also pictured in the Sept.-Oct. 2009 issue of the Mineralogical Record (figure 59, page 376). Great luster, complete all around with indentation on one side where another crystal grew, very gemmy, size 1.7 x 0.8 x 0.6 cm.
