AR52 - Boleite, Anglesite on Gypsum Amelia Mine, Santa Rosalia, Baja, Mexico cabinet - 10.2 x 8.0 x 3.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dark blue Boleite crystals and white Anglesite crystals are scattered across both sides of a fibrous white Gypsum matrix. It's unusual to see Boleite on this type of matrix.
AR55 - Wulfenite $ 260 (=~ € 213) Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 3.2 x 2.7 x 1.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About a dozen sharply terminated cream-colored tabular Wulfenite crystals are stacked on a bit of host matrix. An older Tsumeb example with a Frazier's Minerals label from decades ago. Slight chipping on some of the crystal edges does not detract from the beautiful display presentation of the crystals.
AR57 - Dioptase on Calcite $ 350 (=~ € 287) Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 3.3 x 3 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dioptase crystals to 11mm on white Calcite crystals. Slight damage to the upper left crystal, otherwise undamaged specimen. Showy specimen with sharp terminated crystals which highlight the color contrast between the Dioptase and Calcite.
AR58 - Montmorillonite in Quartz White Queen Mine, Pala, San Diego County, California small cabinet - 6.0 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Double terminated Quartz crystal colored by inclusions of Montmorillonite (a type of clay). These unusual crystals are a byproduct of Tourmaline mining and were only found occasionally in some of the San Diego mines. Very sharply terminated, hollow in two areas, and highly lustrous crystal faces. This is a great example.
AR66 - Cobaltian Calcite $ 400 (=~ € 328) Mashamba West Mine, Katanga, Congo (DRC) miniature - 3.7 x 3.5 x 2.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Rich pink color Cobaltian Calcite crystals to 15mm in size. Although there are a couple bruised crystals, this is a high quality Cobaltian Calcite with bright color and translucent to transparent crystals.
AR70 - Topaz Minas Gerais, Brazil small cabinet - 6.0 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large glassy blue Topaz crystal complete all around with etched faces and water-clear transparency. The crystal detached in the pocket and is naturally etched all around. Weighs approximately 79 grams.
J121 - Prehnite $ 150 (=~ € 123) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.3 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color. Spherical form with quality large crystals. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.
J122 - Prehnite $ 180 (=~ € 148) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color. Undamaged large crystals with Graphite attached on the backside. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.
J123 - Prehnite $ 175 (=~ € 144) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color. Spherical cluster of large crystals with Graphite attached on the base. Large, transparent crystals stick out from the spherical mass of crystals. Some chipping but overall in great condition. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.
J40 - Copper with Silver Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA cabinet - 14.0 x 9.0 x 5.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A classic cabinet size Michigan Copper specimen with minor Quartz and a few patches of bright native Silver. There is also a cavity with larger crystals that have a red patina. Weight is 1lb, 9.6oz, or 727 grams.
J42 - Cuprite with Copper $ 300 (=~ € 246) Chino Mine, Santa Rita District, Grant County, New Mexico, USA cabinet - 11.5 x 6.6 x 4.6 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() An old-time specimen of deep red color Cuprite crystals and bronze color native Copper crystals. A bit of white color brecciated Quartz matrix still remains. Weight is just under 1lb at 14.1oz or 399 grams.
J48 - Rhodochrosite $ 260 (=~ € 213) Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico small cabinet - 5.5 x 5.5 x 4.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A gemmy 'ball' of small Rhodochrosite crystals rests in the center of dark gray matrix. Two other areas also show Rhodochrosite crystals, but the center group is the main point of attraction. When seen with the aid of magnification, you will find dozens of millimeter size clear cubic Fluorite crystals in the matrix areas that host the Rhodochrosite.
J49 - Silver $ 300 (=~ € 246) Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA small cabinet - 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() A hackly group of native Silver crystals with much of the original patina remaining. Weight is 69 grams.
J50 - Silver with Acanthite $ 250 (=~ € 205) Uchucchacua Mine, Peru miniature - 3.7 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Silver wires and patches of native Silver with areas of Acanthite rising from a black sulfide rich matrix. Estimated length of the longest Silver wire is about 2cm. There are a number of good wires present. These are no longer being found.
J55 - Silver with Acanthite $ 250 (=~ € 205) Uchucchacua Mine, Peru miniature - 4.4 x 3.8 x 3.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Multiple Silver wires and patches of native Silver with areas of Acanthite rising from a black sulfide rich matrix. Estimated length of the longest Silver wire is about 2.2cm. There are a number of good wires present. These are no longer being found.
