Large nodule of Variscite with one side brightly polished. This piece amazingly has 4 separate areas (at least) of Variscite surrounded by yellow Crandallite. These are rare to find now in this size and quality.

Old specimen composed of a reticulated 'snowflake' of Cerussite that has been coated by Chrysocolla with Dioptase crystals attached to one side. All the Dioptase aren't in perfect condition, but I think it displays best from the side without the Dioptase anyways. This was recently released from a collection and I've never seen one like it before. The label notes that it was purchased from John Seibel in 1997. A rare and unusual thumbnail!

T607 - Dioptase in Quartz $ 1500
Kaokaveld, Namibia
miniature - 4.7 x 3.0 x 3 cm

Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607a.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607b.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607c.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607d.jpg]

Rare specimen of Dioptase crystals included in Quartz. These are not often seen and it's the only one I've ever owned. There were a handful of specimens from the Congo with slightly bigger Quartz crystals and included Dioptase crystals that sold in the $25K-$35K range. In this specimen, the Dioptase crystals settled on an earlier generation of yellow colored Quartz (which I understand is caused by Sulfur).
