One of the most spectacular color combinations are these yellow Prehnites on Tanzanite. These are not common and this one displays strong colors of each mineral. Bright lemon yellow Prehnite crystals cover the back and one side of a single Tanzanite. Wow!

TU231 - Dravite $ 460
Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania
small cabinet - 5.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm

Gem quality rootbeer brown Dravite crystal with a complex, stepped termination. An unusual feature of this crystal is a thin horzontal zone of cat's-eye that runs through the middle of the crystal, causing it to slightly offset, how this formed is a mystery to me. Complete and undamaged.

Blue Bell Mine, Soda Mountains, San Bernardino Co., California

Anatase crystals to 1.1cm on an Albite coated matrix with gem transparent Quartz crystals. The Quartz are hard to see in the photos (they are exceptionally clear!), but they are really nice.

B110 - Diaspore $ 700
Aydun, Mugula, Turkey

Rare cluster of V-twin crystals. The crystals are gem quality. No matrix, just solid Diaspore.

TZ504 - Chrome Tourmaline with Sulfur $ 500

Chrome Tourmaline with Sulfur from Landanai, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/tz504a.jpg] Chrome Tourmaline with Sulfur from Landanai, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/tz504b.jpg]

Wow! Here's a rarity - Chrome Tourmaline in a matrix of Sulfur and Calcite. I've never heard of or seen such a combo. Aside from being rare, it has great visual appeal with the two strong colors.

TZ507 - Dravite $ 300
Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania
miniature - 3.6 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm

Well terminated gem Dravite. Uncommonly good quality, with most of the crystal facet grade.

B131 - Vesuvianite $ 300

Vesuvianite from Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada [db_pics/pics/b131a.jpg] Vesuvianite from Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada [db_pics/pics/b131b.jpg]

Large, greenish yellow single crystal. Bright and gemmy at the termination. This mine is long closed and Vesuvianites of this size are hard to find now.

B134 - Anatase $ 500 DISCOUNTED 40% OFF TO $ 300
Kharan Mountain, Balochistan, Pakistan
cabinet - 11 x 8 x 7 cm

B138 - Erythrite $ 950

Erythrite from Bou Azzer, Morocco [db_pics/pics/b138a.jpg] Erythrite from Bou Azzer, Morocco [db_pics/pics/b138b.jpg]

Incredible specimen of two attached ball-shaped formations of Erythrite crystals. A rare floater specimen for this species, crystallized all around. Definitely different than most Erythrites you will encounter.

B148 - Calcite on Tanzanite $ 900
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
miniature - 4.0 x 1.3 x 0.6 cm

Calcite on Tanzanite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/b148a.jpg] Calcite on Tanzanite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/b148b.jpg] Calcite on Tanzanite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/b148c.jpg]

Gemmy, complete Tanzanite crystal. Top luster and undamaged. When you see a loose single Tanzanite crystal it's easy to assume it was broken off matrix during mining, however the calcite on the bottom and backside of this crystal demonstrates that this crystal detached from the matrix naturally after formation. I think this is a very good value for a crystal of this size and quality.

B150 - Elbaite with Lepidolite $ 850
Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego Co., California
miniature - 3.8 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm

Elbaite with Lepidolite from Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego Co., California [db_pics/pics/b150a.jpg] Elbaite with Lepidolite from Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego Co., California [db_pics/pics/b150b.jpg] Elbaite with Lepidolite from Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego Co., California [db_pics/pics/b150c.jpg]

Stunning single Elbaite crystal with attached books of bright purple Lepidolite. The Elbaite is 1.2cm wide with a classic bubble-gum pink color with a thin green zone at the termination, with good transparency.

B168 - Smithsonite $ 650
Tsumeb, Namibia
small cabinet - 9 x 4 x 4 cm

Smithsonite from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/b168a.jpg] Smithsonite from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/b168b.jpg] Smithsonite from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/b168c.jpg] Smithsonite from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/b168d.jpg]

Pink Smithsonite crystals covering sulfide matrix. The crystals are bright and lively with great color. There are a couple areas where the specimen intergrew with the opposite pocket wall, otherwise it's a solid coverage of pink crystals.
