LL885 - Calcite $ 450 Dal'Negorsk, Russia small cabinet - 9 x 5 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cluster of large, scalenohedral Calcite crystals. These are beautiful, shimmering and transparent, some with the transparent crystals over a more translucent earlier generation of Calcite. Except for a tiny cleave on one tip, the entire cluster is complete all around and undamaged. Much better than photos!! A real jewel of a specimen.
LL861 - Veszelyite $ 350 Dongchuan, Kunming, Yunnan, China miniature - 5 x 2.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Veszelyite from ANYWHERE are rare and desireable. This recently mined specimen features a sharp 7mm crystal of vivid blue Veszelyite crystal on matrix. This is from a new find made in July 2020 at an old Zinc mine located about about 400 kilometers away from previous Veszelyite finds made at the Laochang Mine (also in Yunnan Prov.).

LL881 - Dioptase $ 1250 Ray Mine, Pinal Co., Arizona, USA cabinet - 13 x 8.5 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Beautiful large specimen of Dioptase on drusy Quartz over Chrysocolla and Malachite. This looks like something out of Africa rather than the USA, but it's old Arizona material with large isolated Dioptase crystals to 7mm in size. A big and colorful Arizona classic that will add pop to a mineral case.
LL879 - Barite $ 950 Book Cliffs, Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado, USA cabinet - 12 x 7.7 x 6.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A single compound Barite crystal, 7.7 x 3.2cm, rising up through two piece of matrix like Excalibur. The crystal is brilliantly lustrous, complete and undamaged. The specimen is a floater that detached from the pocket wall - while the bottom is not as lustrous as the top termination, it is recrystallized. Good sized for the locality, an American classic.
LL865 - Descloizite $ 350 Berg Aukas, Grootfontein, Namibia small cabinet - 6.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well defined, spikey 'spear point' Descloizite crystals covering a thin matrix. The central star cluster displays crystals sticking out in all directions and rainbow iridescence. Undamaged with much more character than most.
LL850 - Mimetite $ 950 Bilbao Mine, La Blanca, Ojocaliente Municipality, Zacatecas, Mexico cabinet - 11 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Deep yellow mounds of Mimetite partially covered by Calcite crystals from a lesser known Mexican Mine that produced these specimens decades ago (1950s). Some of the mounds show growth on top of more hexagonal, barrel-shaped crystals of the same color, distinctly Pyromorphite-like in form. There are also areas with black Plattnerite on the Mimetite.
LL845 - Smithsonite $ 600 Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico cabinet - 10.5 x 7 x 5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mounds of satiny pink Smithsonite from Choix. A beautiful uniform pink color with areas more purple near the top. Bi-color Smithsonite from this locality is uncommon. Undamaged with great sparkling luster.
CT608 - Chambersite $ 250 Venice Salt Dome, Lousiana, USA thumbnail - 0.65 x 0.65 x 0.65 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete tetrahedron of Chambersite, a rare mineral found in salt formations in a small number of localities worldwide. There is damage along one edge, otherwise it's perfect with a great purple color. This locality is on a narrow strip of land that extends out into the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast of New Orleans in an area that was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. This crystal was collected by Fred Pough in 1970. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection.

LL847 - Caledonite $ 1200 Reward Mine, Darwin Dist., Inyo Co., California, USA small cabinet - 7.2 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, translucent Caledonite crystals on matrix from the Reward Mine. Extensive coverage of crystals all over, with larger, flat lying crystals to 1cm towards the upper left. Caledonite is famous for it's vivid teal blue coloration, and this one really delivers the color.
LL849 - Adamite $ 2400 Mina Ojuela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico small cabinet - 8.2 x 5.2 x 4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Glassy white to purple Adamite crystals densely covering a small bit of matrix (it appears to be about 95% solid Adamite). Uncommon in color and form, with many flat lying, double-terminated crystals, the largest 2cm in size. Glassy, lustrous crystals, many transparent terminations. Pristine. Out of the thousands of Mapimi Adamites out there, this one is a rarity. Much better than photos.
