LP226 - Amethyst $ 350 Las Vigas, Vera Cruz, Mexico cabinet - 11.5 x 6 x 4.5 cm Purple Amethyst crystals on matrix from Las Vigas. The crystals are transparent and in perfect condition and occur on a green Epidote coated matrix creating an overal colorful specimen. Ex. LP351 - Tsavorite, Diopside on Titanite $ 450 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.5 x 3 x 2 cm This is a really neat and aesthetic combination specimen from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. A large, chocolate brown twinned Titanite with attached green Tsavorite and white Diopside crystals on one side. Titanite crystals are fairly uncommon at Merelani.
LP352 - Diopside on Tanzanite $ 450 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.5 x 3 x 1.7 cm Two terminated green Diopside crystals spearing through a partial Tanzanite crystal. This is a colorful and unusual specimen unlike any I can recall seeing before. The Tanzanite is thick too, with good sized transparent areas that give this piece cutting rough value. It weighs 24.58 grams (122 carats).
LP355 - Prehnite $ 225 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 3.7 x 3.5 cm Well crystallized group of translucent Prehnite with a bit of attached Graphite on the base. Somewhat spherical in shape with great lemon yellow color.
LP359 - Magnesioaxinite $ 350 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 1.1 cm Thick single crystal of Magnesioaxinite from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. The crystal is about half purple and half orange and well crystallized on both sides. Like most, there is some chipping/damage around the edges. Importantly, it is a thick and robust crystal with lots of transparent areas.
LP366 - Scheelite on Muscovite $ 1200 Mt Xuebaoding, Ping Wu, Sichuan Prov., China cabinet - 11.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm Cluster of transparent to translucent Scheelite octahedra well centered on a Muscovite crystal covered matrix. The Scheelite reach 4cm in size. Saw cut on back.
LP367 - Fluorite $ 2500 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China miniature - 3.5 x 3 x 3 cm Penetration twin of transparent purple Fluorite crystals from the Yaogangxian Mine in China. Highly transparent (looks like purple glass!) and wonderful aesthetics. There are highly lustrous faces on the front and right side with frosted faces on the left and parts of top and back faces. A fine miniature Fluorite of exceptional beauty. The photos don't convey how transparent and bright this is.
LP371 - Siderite $ 150 Vibora Mine, Colavi District, Potosi, Bolivia miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm Golden brown, translucent single Siderite crystal on a matrix of Pyrite and Bornite. The crystal is 1cm tall and of an uncommon hexagonal form of Siderite. Siderite in this form are also found in Cornwall where they are called 'horse tooth' Siderite and are highly coveted.
LP376 - Azurite with Malachite $ 2500 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico small cabinet - 9 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm Striking specimen with well isolated Azurite crystals standing upright and a light colored rock matrix. The crystals reach 2.6cm in size with one being almost completely pseudomorphed to Malachite with only a thin veneer of Azurite remaining. There are 5 main crystals in perfect condition with a few smaller Azurite and small tufts of Malachite. Saw cut on base.
