M142 - Azurite $ 400 (=~ CAN$ 549) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm Single thick, chisel terminated 2.1cm Azurite crystal on matrix. Slight chatter along one edge, otherwise undamaged. Great luster and form and strong color.
M143 - Azurite with Malachite $ 650 (=~ CAN$ 892) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 3.2 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm Superb electric blue Azurite crystals with a minor amount of Malachite. This is from the watercourse pocket (also called the elegant pocket or spiderweb pocket) that was opened in 2013. A near floater cluster (one of the smallest crystals shows a contact where it grew against matrix) composed of intergrown crystals to 2.2cm in size. Although this was mined in 2013 it only made its way north of the border in late 2014 having been stashed away by a miner. Backside has one small broken off crystal, otherwise undamaged and superb. A beauty!
M148 - Azurite with Malachite $ 140 (=~ CAN$ 192) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 2.5 x 1.6 x 1.5 cm Floater cluster of Azurite crystals with minor amounts of Malachite attached. Undamaged floater cluster composed of 4 intergrown crystals, largest 1.7cm long.
M151 - Azurite with Malachite $ 150 (=~ CAN$ 206) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 2.3 x 1.8 x 1.6 cm Floater cluster of Azurite crystals with Malachite from the watercourse pocket. Main crystal is undamaged and 2.1cm long. One minor crystal has a contact where it likely grew against a pocket wall, otherwise undamaged.
E664 - Malachite after Cuprite on Azurite $ 500 (=~ CAN$ 686) Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France miniature - 5 x 3.3 x 2.8 cm Fine, deep blue cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and this specimen was likely found in the 1800s. There are numerous attached crystals of Malachite that have pseudomorphed after Cuprite and a few areas where the Azurite has altered to Malachite.
E669 - Azurite $ 260 (=~ CAN$ 357) Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. This one has a neat 2.5cm wide crystal edge forming a sharp ridge right down the center. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. There are no points of contact, a complete floater. There is some damage on one end but overall it's in great condition.
E673 - Azurite with Malachite after Cuprite $ 200 (=~ CAN$ 274) Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. Nice crystallization with individual to over 1cm, plus a small Malachite after Cuprite crystal. There are no points of contact, a complete floater and undamaged.
E674 - Azurite $ 2500 (=~ CAN$ 3431) Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France small cabinet - 5.8 x 4.3 x 4.0 cm Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. This specimen features large blocky crystals and uniform deep blue color. There are no points of contact, a complete floater and undamaged. The finest large Chessy Azurite I've ever owned.
M160 - Brochantite $ 3000 (=~ CAN$ 4117) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico cabinet - 11.5 x 8 x 3 cm Thick chisel-shaped crystals of deep forest green Brochantite crystals on matrix. A few of the crystals to the lower right grew against the pocket/seam wall otherwise the crystals all have wonderful sharp terminations. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M166 - Brochantite $ 225 (=~ CAN$ 309) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm Thick, deep forest green Brochantite crystals with high luster on matrix. Nice chisel-shaped terminations. These are thick, robust crystals from a 2014 find and are much different in style than earlier finds from the mine which were usually more fragile, hair-like crystals.
M169 - Azurite $ 1200 (=~ CAN$ 1647) Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 3 x 2 cm Bright, electric blue Azurite crystals from the watercourse pocket. Two larger intergrown crystals form the backdrop for a number of smaller crystals projecting forward. Undamaged.
TZ478 - Dravite Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania small cabinet - 7.7 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm Large gemmy brown Dravite with a complex termination. Only the bottom portion is backlit in the second photo but you can see that it is very gemmy top to bottom. Big crystal that weighs 90.6 grams. These are not being found anymore, and this one one of the biggest of a large lot bought years ago. Was listed at $750 (old price) on my website.
TZ482 - Dravite $ 290 (=~ CAN$ 398) Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.7 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm Facet grade rootbeer colored Dravite crystal with a complex termination. Complete and undamaged.
CO107 - Malachite after Cuprite $ 350 (=~ CAN$ 480) Nchanga Mine, Chingola, Zambia thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm Intergrown octahedral Malachite after Cuprite crystals from a 1979 find in Zambia, just released for the first time. Complete and undamaged except for one micro chip on one corner.
SA711 - Chrysoberyl $ 750 (=~ CAN$ 1029) Santa Teresa, Espirito Santo, Brazil thumbnail - 2.3 x 2.1 x 0.6 cm Beautiful and gemmy V-twin Chrysoberyl from Brazil. Good Chrysoberl specimens are always hard to find. This is a well terminated, complete and undamaged crystal. Ex. Tim Sherburn.
