E669 - Azurite $ 260 Blue Mine, Chessy, Rhone-Alpes, France miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm Floater cluster of Azurite from the famous Chessy mines of France. This one has a neat 2.5cm wide crystal edge forming a sharp ridge right down the center. These mines are long closed and I understand these specimens were found in the 1800s. There are no points of contact, a complete floater. There is some damage on one end but overall it's in great condition.
M169 - Azurite $ 1200 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 3 x 2 cm Bright, electric blue Azurite crystals from the watercourse pocket. Two larger intergrown crystals form the backdrop for a number of smaller crystals projecting forward. Undamaged.
SA720 - Brazilianite $ 300 Telerio Mine, Mendes Pimental, Minas Gerais, Brazil miniature - 3.7 x 3.0 x 2.4 cm Attractive cluster of glassy and gemmy Brazilianite with the main crystal a thick 3.5cm long crystal. Undamaged and sits upright on its own.
TZ507 - Dravite $ 300 Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania miniature - 3.6 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm Well terminated gem Dravite. Uncommonly good quality, with most of the crystal facet grade.
B131 - Vesuvianite $ 450 Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada miniature - 4.5 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm Large, greenish yellow single crystal. Bright and gemmy at the termination. This mine is long closed and Vesuvianites of this size are hard to find now.
B138 - Erythrite $ 1500 Bou Azzer, Morocco miniature - 4 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm Incredible specimen of two attached ball-shaped formations of Erythrite crystals. A rare floater specimen for this species, crystallized all around. Definitely different than most Erythrites you will encounter.
B289 - Azurite, Malachite on Dickite $ 1200 Volborthite Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 5 x 3 x 2 cm Azurite crystals too 1.6cm with green Malachite on a Dickite coated matrix. The Azurite has a waxy to satiny luster and is brilliantly translucent when backlit. From a single pocket opened in April 2015 that produced a limited number of specimens. A small chip on one crystal otherwise undamaged.
B294 - Azurite, Malachite on Dickite $ 400 Volborthite Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm Azurite crystals too 1.6cm with green Malachite on a Dickite coated matrix. The Azurite has a waxy to satiny luster and is brilliantly translucent when backlit. From a single pocket opened in April 2015 that produced a limited number of specimens. Nearly pristine with just a single chip to one crystal. These Volborthite pocket Azurites are distinct.
B321 - Dioptase $ 500 Katanga Prov., Congo miniature - 4.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm Solid cluster of nothing but Dioptase crystals, with the focus on a central, large upright crystal. Main crystal is 1.5cm in diameter, rises up 1.5cm higher than the others, and is undamaged.
B396 - Azurite $ 350 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2 cm Flattened, lustrous Azurite crystals on matrix. One edge of the small, uppermost crystal is contacted on edge where it grew against matrix and another small crystal has damage and irregular growth. Nevertheless, the damage does not distract much and it's a very showy piece, and price reflects the damage.
B399 - Azurite $ 800 Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.2 x 4 x 2.6 cm Highly lustrous, elongated Azurite crystals that contrast well against the white Dickite coated matrix. Main crystal is 3.3 cm wide and contacted at the far right side where it grew against matrix, otherwise specimen is undamaged with crystals in an aesthetic arrangement. Azurite is also translucent under strong lighting.
B406 - Azurite Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4 x 2.2 x 1.3 cm Single large, thick Azurite crystal with a tiny amount of matrix attached to one side. Slight chipping present but overall very clean and complete all around.
B495 - Brookite $ 300 Kharan Mountain, Balochistan, Pakistan miniature - 4.5 x 4 x 3 cm A 3cm Brookite crystal on matrix with Quartz crystals.
B499 - Azurite with Malachite $ 1250 Volborthite Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.5 x 4 x 3 cm Stunning Azurite specimen with bladed crystals to 2.5cm wide on a white matrix with spherical masses of Malachite which are distinctive for this pocket.
B500 - Azurite with Malachite $ 250 Volborthite Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico miniature - 4.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm Bright bladed crystals of Azurite, nothing but Azurite on this one except a single spherical mass of Malachite which is distinctive for this pocket. Some chipping along the edges.
