Uncommon and interesting Merelani specimen consisting of a 2.5cm terminated Tanzanite side-by-side with a 3cm Diopside, however the terminations are pointing in opposite directions. Never seen one like this before.

Bright Robin's egg blue Chalcoalumite covering matrix. These specimens are very hard to come by now as the locality is now part of a national park. This old copper mine began operation in 1892, stopped operation around 1907, and became a part of the national park in 1940. The specimen is likely over 100 years old! From an old collection and comes mounted in a plastic box.
