J143 - Agate after Shell $ 200 (=~ € 183) Dakhla area, Western Sahara, Morocco miniature - 3.2 x 2.9 x 1.2 cm Fossil shell that has been replaced by translucent grey agate. These are found on the surface, having weathered out of the surrounding rock formations. There are about 40 different species found at this deposit. Although they could have weathered out of different formations, they are all believed to be Eocene in age. Most are broken pieces and weathered and perfectly preserved examples such as this are uncommon, probably less than 5 percent of what is found. Fine quality example of a lesser seen species.
J144 - Agate after Shell $ 200 (=~ € 183) Dakhla area, Western Sahara, Morocco miniature - 3.5 x 3.3 x 1.3 cm Fossil shell that has been replaced by translucent grey agate.

C683 - Thaumasite $ 1500 (=~ € 1370) N'Chwanning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa miniature - 3.4 x 3 x 1.3 cm Thaumasite is a rare mineral in the Ettringite group, the best were found at the N'Chwanning. This is a rare matrix specimen - you used to be able to find small single crystals but now even those are hard to find. Matrix specimens were always uncommon, and I have only ever had one before, a similar piece to this one that I paid a similar price to Katherine Woest about 15 years ago. Crystals are a transparent yellow and reach 5mm in diameter. White tufts of Xonotlite are dispersed between the Thaumasite crystals.
J275 - Topaz after Augelite with Quartz $ 750 (=~ € 685) Mundo Nuevo Mine, La Libertad, Peru miniature - 5 x 3 x 3 cm Two light lavender casts of Topaz after Augelite associated with elongated, transparent Quartz crystals. This was fouond about ten years ago when the great Augelite finds were made. There are two casts present, the largest over 2cm. This is the best of only a few I saw available. They were originally thought to be Fluorite after Augelite, but have been tested and confirmed to be Topaz.

The Fluorite crystals have superb surface luster. Damage to one Barite cluster on the lower right side, otherwise undamaged. Good Fluorite crystals on the back side too!

J395 - Prehnite $ 500 (=~ € 457) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.2 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm Merelani Prehnite is considered by many, including me, to be the best in the world, and what has been produced in the last year or two has been the best. This beautiful specimen is a perfect example of this quality. Large translucent crystals with good yellow color in a somewhat flower-like rosette formation. It's undamaged and formed atop a (now gone) Tanzanite crystal and only tiny bits of Tanzanite remain on the base.
