A fine, sharply terminated, complete Smoky Quartz crystal from this classic California locality. Only a small amount of micro-chipping here and there, otherwise a good sized, near-perfect example. Note that there is a small stepped growth near the termination as seen in photos - this is natural growth and not damage.

J578 - Prehnite $ 50
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
small cabinet - 7.6 x 5.0 x 5.0 cm

Prehnite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/J578a.jpg] Prehnite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/J578b.jpg] Prehnite from Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/J578c.jpg]

Olive green color Prehnite crystals with sharp radial clusters overall. A small amount of silver-gray Graphite can be seen mainly on the bottom. An excellent quality specimen with good luster and very translucent. No major damage and only minimal chipping here and there. Though darker in color due to Graphite inclusions, this is an excellent specimen with large, well defined crystals that I value at $300.
