K839 - Titanite with Tsavorite on Calcite $ 450 (=~ CAN$ 0) SOLD Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 2.5 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() A 2.2cm Titanite (Sphene) crystal standing on edge atop Calcite crystals that are in turn sprinkled with small green Tsavorite crystals. Titanite is uncommon at Merelani and this is a superb display example that would make a great addition to a Merelani suite. K845 - Prehnite $ 175 (=~ CAN$ 0) Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.7 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Spherical cluster of green Prehnite with larger individual crystals that have grown out from the center. The backside is contacted with an attached partial Tanzanite crystal and there is Graphite on the base. The front and larger crystals are all undamaged. K767 - Spessartine $ 350 (=~ CAN$ 0) Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania miniature - 3.3 x 3.3 x 3.3 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large single Spessartine crystal with bright citrus orange coloration. Though incomplete on the bottom, the rest of the crystal is undamaged with just some trivial edge wear. K827 - Apatite on Diopside (?) $ 250 (=~ CAN$ 0) Chamkoroma, Dodoma Province, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 3 x 2 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A 2.4 terminated Apatite crystal attached to two terminated green crystals (possibly Diopside or other Pyroxene). This is relatively new material and the only aesthetic specimen that I saw of the material. The Apatite is translucent and gets transparent near the termination. I don't recall ever seeing one like this (Pyrite in Prehnite). Neither mineral is rare at the Merelani Tanzanite mines, but I've never seen them together like this.
