K738 - Fluorite with Calcite $ 600 (=~ CAN$ 823) Dongpo Mine, Yizhang Co., Hunan, China small cabinet - 7 x 6 x 3.5 cm Transparent light green Fluorite cubes with transparent wafer-like Calcite crystals. The quality of both the Fluorite and Calcite is remarkable. The best of a small lot I obtained years ago.
K739 - Cinnabar $ 300 (=~ CAN$ 412) Yanwuping Mines, Guizhou, China miniature - 5 x 4.2 x 3.8 cm Cluster of large, twinned Cinnabar crystals 2.2cm wide on Dolomite and Quartz crystals. Another small 'drill bit' twin is near the base.
K740 - Fluorite $ 350 (=~ CAN$ 480) SOLD Berbes, Ribadesella, Asturias, Spain miniature - 3.7 x 3.4 x 2 cm Cluster of transparent purple Fluorite crystals, a floater with no matrix. A little damage, slightly rehealed, along the right side, otherwise perfectly crystallized all around and the luster is like glass. Ex. Wolfgang Pohl collection.
K702 - Ankerite $ 80 (=~ CAN$ 110) SOLD Carson Hill Gold Mine, Calaveras Co., California, USA small cabinet - 6 x 4.8 x 2 cm Fine quality specimen Ankerite, a mineral similar to Dolomite, with Quartz crystals on green Mariposite. Undamaged specimen with great crystals, including a gem-like 1cm double-terminated Quartz crystal. Mariposite is a dolomitic marble included by chromium rich mica found in the foothills of California and was often an indicator of nearby Gold.
K703 - Ankerite $ 80 (=~ CAN$ 110) SOLD Carson Hill Gold Mine, Calaveras Co., California, USA small cabinet - 6 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm Fine quality specimen Ankerite, a mineral similar to Dolomite, with Quartz crystals. Undamaged specimen with large platy crystals. Has a slight green tint due to Mariposite, the host rock upon which this was found. Mariposite is a dolomitic marble included by chromium rich mica found in the foothills of California and was often an indicator of nearby Gold.
K714 - Tsavorite, Laumontite, Graphite $ 200 (=~ CAN$ 274) SOLD Merelani HIlls, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.9 x 2 x 1.6 cm Good combination specimen with multiple species found at Merelani. The Tsavorites are the main draw, with crystals of good color to over 1cm in size. This specimen has an uncommon association of prismatic white Laumontite crystals to 7mm, along with Graphite and Pyrite crystals. It's also nearly a floater with great crystals all over as you turn it.
