J245 - Spinel $ 125 (=~ ¥ 13248) Mahenge, Morogoro, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete octahedral red Spinel crystal with good color. Damage at two tips, but overall very good with good luster and translucency. Gemmy areas within.
J249 - Spinel $ 125 (=~ ¥ 13248) Mahenge, Morogoro, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.1 x 2.0 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Complete octahedral red Spinel crystal with good color. Chipping on two corners. Rich gemmy areas within, especially the tip.
J591 - Manganite $ 160 (=~ ¥ 16957) SOLD Caland Pit, Atikokan, Ontario, Canada small cabinet - 8.0 x 5.0 x 2.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Sharp and lustrous Manganite crystals on almost 100% Manganite matrix. This is an example of the best Manganite from this locality. The crystals are very lustrous with some reaching about 7mm wide and without damage.
J625 - Diaspore $ 280 (=~ ¥ 29674) Aydun, Mugula, Turkey small cabinet - 7.4 x 6.6 x 2.4 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large single Diaspore crystal with typical ragged/contacted ends. Good gem sections in areas. This crystal displays multiple signs of fracturing and rehealing (noted by lighter colored lateral lines) resulting in a naturally 'bent' crystal, the same phenomenon that is sometimes seen in tourmaline crystals.
J626 - Diaspore $ 250 (=~ ¥ 26495) Aydun, Mugula, Turkey small cabinet - 7.1 x 6.8 x 4.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large partial V-twin crystal of Diaspore. It is unterminated or etched terminated, as most of these are, and is translucent with transparent zones. This is rare material from old stocks in Turkey. No more is being found as the deposit has been exhausted. Large Diaspore crystals such as this are uncommon.
J528 - Brucite (R) $ 600 (=~ ¥ 63588) Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan cabinet - 13.8 x 7.8 x 4.0 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, solid radial mass of yellow Brucite on matrix with a crystal group 10cm wide. There is a thin layer of Brucite over the matrix upon which the larger crystal group grew and unfortunately it broke off this thin layer during shipment from Pakistan and has been professionally reattached. Regardless, it is an exceptionally showy example from the find that has produced best of species. This is an uncommon example well crystallized all around, characteristic of open pocket growth and not growth in tight, contacted seams as are most. Translucent, thick and sturdy.
J622 - Brucite $ 240 (=~ ¥ 25435) Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.0 x 5.0 x 2.7 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, solid 'pinwheel' radial mass of yellow Brucite on matrix. This is an uncommon example well crystallized all around, characteristic of open pocket growth and not growth in tight, contacted seams as are most. Translucent and thick with no damage.
J620 - Brucite $ 550 (=~ ¥ 58289) Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.2 x 6.5 x 3.9 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, solid radial mass of yellow Brucite on matrix. Superb, complete 'pinwheel' on matrix that displays wonderfully. This is an uncommon example well crystallized all around, characteristic of open pocket growth and not growth in tight, contacted seams as are most. Translucent, thick and sturdy. Undamaged.
J623 - Brucite $ 300 (=~ ¥ 31794) Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan miniature - 4.0 x 3.9 x 1.8 cm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large, solid radial mass of yellow Brucite on a small speck of matrix. The specimen is solid Brucite well crystallized all around and undamaged. It's a 360 degree 'pinwheel' formation on a small amount of matrix. This example is nearly a floater because the matrix is partially covered by a thin layer of lighter colored Brucite. It is translucent, thick and sturdy, and undamaged.
