Well formed Quartz scepter with white coatings of Dolomite. Complete all around and undamaged with a very uniform shape (which make the best scepter specimens). Old specimen found in 1996.

Well formed Quartz scepter with white coatings of Dolomite. Complete all around with a very uniform shape (which make the best scepter specimens). Very minor chipping on one side of the stem portion. Old specimen found in 1996.

Gemmy green and purple Fluorite cubes with good surface luster. Beautiful transition of color with transparent green crystals showing light purple edges. Very good condition all around other than a couple of minor chips here and there.

Calcite lined vug with clusters of dark green Clinoatacamite. The Clinoatacamite crystals on this specimen are lustrous and well formed. These are regarded as some of the world's best Clinoatacamite examples. Inspection revealed that this specimen had broken and been repaired repaired prior to my purchase.

J516 - Rhodochrosite after bivalve shell $ 250

A fossil bivalve shell that has been completely replaced by pink Rhodochrosite. The shell is wonderfully preserved with both sides present and in perfect condition. One end has been cut to reveal the pink Rhodochrosite inside. The old iron mine where these were found is long closed and these are no longer being found. An undamaged, very well preserved example.

Rich Pyrargyrite specimen with numerous clusters of well-defined crystals scattered throughout the sulfide matrix. Other species in association include Pyrite, Quartz, and Calcite.

Radiating needles of Franckeite crystals intergrown into a large, massive specimen. Franckeite is a rare sulfosalt consisting of lead, tin, iron, and antimony. An excellent example with fine radiating crystals.

A fine example of the rare sulfosalt species, Franckeite, with radiating spear-shaped crystals and what was formerly known as Potosiite (now discredited). Potosiite is the variety of Franckeite that is tin-poor in its chemistry with crystals more tabular in shape. A rare specimen.

A good sized matrix Vesuvianite specimen, one of the best color combination examples for this type. The matrix is purple mangan Vesuvianite covered by an outer layer of yellow/green Vesuvianite crystals. Largest single crystal in the group is just over 2cm in length. The mine is now closed.

Three Anatase crystals seen on white Albite and Quartz covered matrix. The largest single Anatase crystal is 9mm across. All three crystals are undamaged and translucent at the tips.

Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color with large, chunky crystals. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.

Gemmy bright yellow-green Prehnite in a spherical grouping with sharp ridges of crystals. A small amount of silver-gray Graphite can be seen on one side. There is also an inclusion of blue, incomplete Tanzanite crystals. The quality of the Prehnite is superb with big crystals extending out of the main group with good luster and very translucent. Only minor contact and cleaving in a few areas.

Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color with a crystal habit of parallel bladed/tabular crystals which are a new style (at least to me) not seen until this year. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.

Well crystallized Prehnite from recent finds at the Merelani Tanzanite mines. Highly translucent with a greenish yellow color. This one is an exceptional small miniature with very stout, thick crystls forming a 3cm wide radial grouping. No damage to the crystals. These recent Prehnites are the best ever found at the locality.
