This specimen is a complex combination of multi-stage growth of Quartz that shows two distinct periods of development. The early stage growth is an Amethyst Quartz crystal with Hematite either in or on its faces. The late stage growth is a nearly complete coverage of clear Quartz, terminated on both ends. This pattern of development gives the specimen the appearance of having internal Hematite and Amethyst Quartz phantoms when viewed from the top or sides. A very aesthetic and interesting specimen. Old label shows a price of $250.

A beautiful combination of Amethyst Quartz crystals on clear Quartz crystals with 3.5cm cluster of opaque white Anhydrite crystals on one side. The combination of two different colors of the species in this arrangement gives this specimen an attractive 9cm wide multi-dimensional look. Ex. Bob Trimingham Collection with his detailed label description.

A very glassy Smoky Quartz crystal, terminated on both ends, that provides a perfect window of view showing golden acicular crystals of Rutile shooting through its interior. You have to look closely otherwise you might think the crystal has damage on the ends, but it's actually complete. In addition, there are several white color rhombohedral crystals of an unidentified species included within the Quartz. Old label shows a price of $150.

Minas Gerais has produced countless beautiful specimens of Quartz with a wide variety of crystal habits and mineral associations. The specimen shown here is fine example. It consists of a fan-like cluster of smaller, clear Quartz crystals serving as a background matrix for a much larger, double-terminated, sceptered Quartz crystal set to one side. Look closely and you will find several samll, multi-colored Tourmaline crystals included in the large Quartz crystal as well as hidden in the smaller Quartz crystals. An absolutely gorgeous specimen with no apparant damage.
