An amazing Tsavorite specimen from late 2013 finds at Merelani which produced highly gemmy, lustrous Tsavorites of medium green color, often with carbon inclusions. Besides the high luster and transparency, the most noteble characteristic of the find was the presence of a limited amount of clusters and floater crystals. The main crystal in this cluster is 1.6cm across and complete all around and undamaged, as are the 3 smaller attached crystals. Under a loupe I can find a couple very trivial 1mm or smaller nicks - a very pristine crystal.

This specimen grew as a floater around the tip of a tiny Tanzanite, only part of which remains. There are 3 main Tsavorites in the cluster, the largest being 1cm in size. Under a loupe I can find one very trivial 1mm or smaller nick - a very pristine crystal. Fine and unusual specimen.
