Garnet Hill Mine

Garnet Hill is a well known locality that has produced Epidote and Andradite specimens since the 1920s.  The prize specimens are the large, well formed Epidote crystals and extremely rare psuedomorphs. The locality is also known for abundant Andradite of moderate quality.  It is the different types of replacements of Quartz and Epidote after Andradite that collectors fail to notice, some with hollow casts in complete dodecahedral form. This batch focuses on such psuedomorphs and includes a variety of great examples.

Interesting specimen that at first glance looks like a pair of good Andradite crystals. But if you look at the back you see that the red Andradite forms a thin layer over Epidote that completely replaced previous Andradite crystals.
