A845 - Aquamarine SOLD

Aquamarine from Skardu Distric, Pakistan [db_pics/pics/a845a.jpg] Aquamarine from Skardu Distric, Pakistan [db_pics/pics/a845b.jpg]

Talk about a neat specimen. This unusual thumbnail sized Aqua is composed of a wider, shorter Aqua with a thin Aqua rising out of the termination. Note that this is not like a typical Aqua specimen that looks like this where there are two side by side crystals with one longer than the other.  In this specimen, the little crystal rised right out of the center of the termination of the shorter crystal. Undamaged.

Gem quality single crystal with good glassy luster. Complete all around and of superb quality, and according to James Houran, the best he has ever seen in this size.

Nicely balanced specimen of bright orange Spessartine with light smokey Quartz crystals. Aside from the above average composition of this piece, another thing I like about this specimen is that many of the Quartz crystal have Spessartine inclusions inside, and the Quartz is transparent and lightly colored enough to make them readily visible.

Tongbei, Fujian Prov., China

Selective etching creates these "scepter" Fluorites at Elmwood - the main faces are etched way leaving the corners of the original cubes. This one is a particularly good example. Willard Perkins collection #26508.
