Gemmy red Rhodochrosite crystals on matrix from old finds in Mexico. Good coverage of crystals, especially for Santa Eulalia, with crystals to 1.3cm in length. The matrix is coated by a black, satiny botryoidal mineral.

Rhombic crystals of translucent yellow Smithsonite over Willemite with areas of yellow Mimetite. Good vuggy specimen with crystals all over.

Glassy single crystal of Anglesite. Well terminated with high luster.

Large crystals of Hausmannite on matrix. Rather than the typical stepped/compound crystals with often satiny luster, this specimen features sharp single crystals with smooth, flat faces. There is a large 1.8 crystal partially in the matrix, and a fabulous nearly freestanding complete crystal in the center that measures 1.5cm wide. Ex. Neil Levett collection.
R646 - Kermesite with Valentinite, Paakkonenite $ 2400 (=~ € 2193) Kermesite occurrence, Dafeng, Shanglin County, Nanning, Guangxi, China small cabinet - 6.3 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm
Beautiful deep red spray of Kermesite crystals on matrix. These were found in the early 2000s from an unnamed antimony mine in the Damingshan range near the town of Dafeng. This find was one of the most significant ever for Kermesite and most found were loose crystals or small sprays of crystals and not on matrix. The Kermesite crystals here sit aesthetically on matrix. The matrix is covered by the rare mineral Paakkonenite and small yellow crystals of Valentinite.

Rare colorless Grossular crystals from a small find made in 2018 near Georgetown. The specimens were found in an approximately 3 meter long lens in Serpentine that was completely mined out. These have been analyzed as nearly pure end member Grossular with the crystals occurring in bunches or on massive white Grossular. This specimen features a particularly good 6mm crystal on matrix with other smaller crystals. This deposit is featured in the November-December 2019 Mineralogical Record magazine.

R651 - Gitter Quartz $ 160 (=~ € 146) SOLD Erongo Region, Namibia miniature - 4.5 x 2 x 2 cm
Cris-crossing Quartz crystals known as 'Gitter Quartz' (a German name for fence or lattice Quartz). The Quartz crystals form epitaxially on an elongated single Feldspar crystal in a lattice of crystals. The Feldspar crystal on this specimen appears to have completely pseudomorphed to Quartz. The Erongo Mountains is the one of the only localities that produces this style of unusual Quartz specimens. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
