Fine large Aegerine crystal with associated Zircon and Orthoclase. Note that this is not from Mt. Malosa, but from nearby Mulanje Mountain which is producing a similar suite of minerals as Mt. Malosa. This one has everything going for it, firstly it is a stout crystal at 3.1 cm wide, much more impressive than the typical pencil crystals. It also has great luster and a fine tapering termination, and a bonus of yellow Zircons on two sides. No damage.

TU2 - Rhodochrosite $ 4000 SOLD
N'Chwanning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa
small cabinet - 8.8 x 5.5 x 4 cm

Lovely plate of deep red Rhodochrosite crystals of the basal pinacoid habit.Very little to no damage with the largest crystal/crystal group 2 cm wide and perfectly centered on the specimen. A fantastic specimen.

TU3 - Magnesio-axinite $ 1250 SOLD
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
miniature - 5 x 3.4 x 0.9 cm

Magnesio-axinite from Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/tu3a.jpg] Magnesio-axinite from Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/tu3b.jpg] Magnesio-axinite from Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania [db_pics/pics/tu3c.jpg]

Fine single crystal with a wonderful lavender color. These are very hard to find in this quality as most are mere shards or partial crystals, especially in this size range. This one is complete a free of damage except for a couple very trivial nicks along the edge. One side has a more smooth and uniform sharp edge with the other a more serrated edge.

TU5 - Vanadinite $ 1500 SOLD
Mibladen, Morocco
small cabinet - 7 x 5.5 x 4.1 cm

Vanadinite from Mibladen, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu5a.jpg] Vanadinite from Mibladen, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu5b.jpg] Vanadinite from Mibladen, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu5c.jpg] Vanadinite from Mibladen, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu5d.jpg]

Thick blocky Vanadinite crystals of reddish brown color. Crystals reach 2cm wide by 1.1 cm thick. In excellent condition overall with only two tiny nicks. There was a significant find of this style of Vanadinite in 2012 and it was available with many Moroccan dealers at the 2013 Tucson show.  While there were a number of good minatures to be had, the larger specimens had at least one missing crystal or significantly damaged crystal; most had lots of damaged areas.  This was the best one in this size range.

TU6 - Elbaite var. Indicolite $ 1200
Naipa Mine, Alto Ligonha, Mozambique
miniature - 4.4 x 0.9 x 0.8 cm
ex.  Carl Acosta

Elbaite var. Indicolite from Naipa Mine, Alto Ligonha, Mozambique [db_pics/pics/tu6a.jpg] Elbaite var. Indicolite from Naipa Mine, Alto Ligonha, Mozambique [db_pics/pics/tu6b.jpg]

Gem quality blue Elbaite with a steep pyramidal termination. Complete all around and undamaged.

TU8 - Brochantite with Anglesite $ 250 SOLD
Tsumeb Mine, Namibia
miniature - 4.5 x 3.8 x 3 cm

Brochantite with Anglesite from Tsumeb Mine, Namibia [db_pics/pics/tu8a.jpg] Brochantite with Anglesite from Tsumeb Mine, Namibia [db_pics/pics/tu8b.jpg] Brochantite with Anglesite from Tsumeb Mine, Namibia [db_pics/pics/tu8c.jpg]

Bright, vivid green crystals of Brochantite on and embedded in Anglesite. Brochantite and Anglesite occurred together from the second oxidation zone of the mine and is considered a rarity for Tsumeb. At the time it was considered the world's best, now second to the Milpillas Mine. A beautiful piece that would be a great addition to a Tsumeb suite.

TU9 - Malachite and Azurite $ 450
Bou Bekker Mine, Morocco
small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 3 cm

Malachite and Azurite from Bou Bekker Mine, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu9a.jpg] Malachite and Azurite from Bou Bekker Mine, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu9b.jpg] Malachite and Azurite from Bou Bekker Mine, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu9c.jpg]

Limonite matrix covered by velvety needles of Malachite hosts a 3cm tall Azurite crystal that is partially replaced by Malachite. Although the replacment appears to have been haphazard with various green splotches of Malachite, the crystal form remains a sharp rosette.

TU10 - Senegalite with Turquoise $ 1250 SOLD
Khouroudiako, Senegal
small cabinet - 8 x 7 x 4.5 cm

Senegalite with Turquoise from Khouroudiako, Senegal [db_pics/pics/tu10a.jpg] Senegalite with Turquoise from Khouroudiako, Senegal [db_pics/pics/tu10b.jpg]

Large, vuggy specimen of the rare phosphate Senegalite from the type locality for the species. Open vugs reach 6cm wide and are fully lined with Senegalite. This is the most aesthetic Senegalite I have ever seen with large sized vugs and good color highlighted against the blue Turquoise underneath. Good vugs on both sides of specimen with very little matrix, you get really not much more than the crystal lined vugs. From the Alain Carion collection.

TU11 - Agate after Shell $ 450 SOLD
Dakhla, Morocco
small cabinet - 7.8 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm

Agate after Shell from Dakhla, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu11a.jpg] Agate after Shell from Dakhla, Morocco [db_pics/pics/tu11b.jpg]

Fossil shell from the Eocene replaced by translucent golden agate. This is a monster for the find which usually produces shells in the 2cm size range. In superb condition too.

TU12 - Calcite with Malachite $ 125 SOLD
Tsumeb Mine, Namibia
miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm

Calcite with Malachite from Tsumeb Mine, Namibia [db_pics/pics/tu12a.jpg] Calcite with Malachite from Tsumeb Mine, Namibia [db_pics/pics/tu12b.jpg]

2.7cm wide Calcite crystal partially included by Malachite. The Calcite is sharp and lustrous butwith an unfortunate ding on one corner. Smaller Calcites, and red and pink Dolomite complete this colorful specimen.

Killer Ettringite thumbnail featuring a 2.1 double-terminated crystal attached to a small amount of matrix with a smaller crystal rising up from the back. Aside from the great form, it is undamaged with a superb bright translucent yellow coloration.

TU14 - Cerussite on Smithsonite $ 150 SOLD

Topaz from Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/tu17a.jpg] Topaz from Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/tu17b.jpg]

Gemmy single crystal complete all around. Great overall condition with just a couple nicks on the edges. This was from the personal collection of the Brazilian dealer I purchased it from. Although there are internal viels and fractures (like most all of these), this one is clearer than most.
